Champagne Wreath 🎄
If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to make a unique holiday decoration, this glass wreath canvas project is perfect for you! Using metallic paints, shimmering glass pieces, and a smooth resin finish, you’ll create a stunning piece that’s both elegant and festive. Whether you’re a crafting pro or just trying something new, this step-by-step guide will help you bring your wreath to life!
Begin by creating your background using Metallic Pearl and Metallic Champagne paints. Squeeze both colors directly onto the canvas, then use a palette knife to gently spread the paint across the surface. Apply light pressure, barely skimming the canvas for a soft, blended effect. Once you're satisfied with the coverage, use a heat tool to dry the paint.
Let’s bring our wreath to life with glass! Start by placing a large vase, cup, or any circular object (around 3–4 inches wide) at the center of your canvas to act as a guide. Begin by arranging Solex Reflective Glass around the object to form the wreath shape. Then, layer in Solex Classic, Clear Classic, and a few pieces of Green Reflective Glass for added dimension. Finish off with a touch more Solex Classic for extra sparkle.
To add charm, I’ll use a set of adorable mini ornaments I found at HomeGoods. I’ll tuck three ornaments into the bottom right corner of the wreath, then embellish further with acrylic glass gems and clear flat gems
We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Put on rubber gloves. Mix 5-6 oz total of ArtResin and stir gently for three minutes. Pour the resin onto your glass and canvas and use your gloved fingers or brush to spread it over the entire piece.
Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
Finish by sprinkling acrylic bubbles around the wreath and background for a fun, textured look. Add a mix of Matte Crystal seed beads, Miyuki Crystal seed beads, Glass Bugle Beads in Crystal Luster, and 6mm frosted iridescent beads to the wreath for a touch of sparkle and charm.
