Christmas Lamb

We are creating an adorable little Christmas lamb today complete with a Santa hat and starry night sky. I'm using a 5x7 canvas along with some acrylic paint and Starfire glass to make this fun holiday piece!

First, we are going to paint the sides and front of the canvas with Prussian Blue. Let dry. Then, we are going to create our stars! Mix white paint with water. Dip an old toothbrush into your mixture and run your finger along the bristles above your canvas to splatter your stars onto your canvas.

Grab your tracer, tape it to the canvas, place transfer paper underneath, and trace your lamb with a stylus onto the canvas. I am using white transfer paper so that it shows up on my dark background. 

Then, we will start painting! I am starting by painting the white trim on the Santa hat and the white body of the lamb. Then, I'll paint the Santa hat with red paint. For the lamb's face and ears, I am using Anita's Charcoal paint. 

Next, I am going to take some Drizzle Gray paint to fill in some parts of my lamb's body. Then, I'm adding more white paint to give him some texture.

I'll add a second coat of red to my Santa hat as well as some black paint and whit paint for shadows and highlights.

I'll add some black and white highlights to my lamb's face as well. Let dry.

Take a graphic brush marker to add in the lamb's eyes. 

Now, I'll take my graphic pen to add in some details on my lamb. I'm just adding short outline strokes to make some of the features stand out. 

I'm going to outline my lamb's body with tacky glue to make sure my glass stays there. Then, I'll just add my Starfire glass to the his body and the end of the Santa hat.

Next, we will add resin. We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Mix 1 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Then, drizzle over your glass. Pour the remainder of resin onto your canvas and spread it using your gloved fingers or brush.

Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
