I'm continuing with our little sunflower series! This sunflower will be facing the other way and will have the word "love" included. We will be doing a similar turquoise and white background as well as including clear glass on the bottom and some seed beads in my sunflower center. Let's get started!
First, we will grab the tracer, tape it to the canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace the sunflower with a stylus onto the canvas (just the flower for now, we'll do the "love" later)
Next, I am painting my background with turquoise and white paint, just going around my traced sunflower. I'm also painting my edges too. Let dry.
Next, grab your tracer again, tape it to the canvas, place the graphite paper underneath, and trace the word "love" with your stylus.
I'm painting my leaves with Hauser Green. I'm using a #6 round brush.
For my sunflower, I am going to use some different, fun colors! I am using the Marigold color again, plus some Spiced Pumpkin (orange) and Scarlet (reddish-orange). I am starting with a base of Marigold for my petals and painting my sunflower center with Burnt Uber, which is a brown.
Next, I'm painting my "love" lettering with black paint. Let dry.
Now, it's time to add some highlighting and definition. I am doing a second coat of brown paint on my sunflower center. I'm adding the orange and reddish-orange paint to my flower petals now along with some white. I'm also adding some light green, dark green, and white paint to my leaves. I'm also blending in some dark green into my "love" lettering.
Now I'm going to add some details with my graphic pen. I'm adding short strokes outlining my flower petals, leaves, and "love".
Now it's time to add glass! I'm adding tacky glue to the center of my sunflower. Then, I'm using seed beads - these are called "Autumn" with some gold, orange, and red colors. I'm also adding clear glass to the bottom of my canvas.
Now, we will add resin. We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Mix 1 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Then, drizzle over your glass. Pour the remainder of resin onto your canvas and spread it using your gloved fingers or brush.
Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
Love the seed beads on this one! Is this not super fun?!
