Trois Flowers 🌺

I am using a 5x7 canvas to create a pretty collection of three flowers. These are going to be very abstract roses - and it's the perfect art project to welcome the spring season! We'll be using several acrylic paint colors and then finishing off our piece with some seed beads and resin.

I'm going to start by sketching my roses onto my canvas with a watercolor pencil. If you have a tracer, you can tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace it with a stylus. 

I'm going to paint around my sketched flowers with some Calypso blue paint. I'll also paint my leaves with some light green, yellow, and a bit of blue paint. 

Next, I'm going to paint my roses. I am using three different colors - Cinnamon Drop (red), Dragonfruit (pink), and Vintage Pink. I'm going to swirl the paint and fill in my rose messy and imperfect. I'm going to blend in some white paint as well some of the other colors - just layering the color in a swirling pattern. I'm also going to add a flower center with some dark colors and a bit of yellow.

At this point, you can choose to keep your background blue, but I feel the need to paint my background black! I'm also going to paint my canvas sides.

Next, I'm using black and white posca pens. You can also use a graphic marker. I'm just going to add some squiggle detail lines. I'm also going to use a DecoArt metallic gold pen to add some detail lines as well. I'm adding some lines on my leaves and some dots in my flower centers. I'm also going to add some dots on my black paint.

Now, we are going to add some seed beads! I'm using Crystal Luster 12/0, Snow 6/0, and Pink Luster 12/0. I'm adding these to my flower centers and along some of my flower detail lines.

Next, we will add resin. We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Mix 1/4 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Then, drizzle over your beads. Pour the remainder of the resin onto your canvas and spread it using your gloved fingers or brush.

Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
