We are making a cute Valentine's Day project using an 8x16 canvas! I have been testing some tinted red glass in the warehouse and will be using that today to create this love-themed art piece. My goal is to tint and provide colored glass so you don't have to do it yourself! This red glass worked perfectly and I'm excited to use it for more projects.
I'm going to start by painting my background with white paint and then adding Poodleskirt Pink on top, blending it into the wet white. Dry with a heat tool.
Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart and Xs onto your canvas with a stylus.
I'm going to paint the hearts and Xs with Primary Red paint. Add a second coat as well. Dry with a heat tool.
I'm going to use a dotter sponge brush and add polka dots to my Xs with Dragonfruit pink paint. I'm going to use a piece of paper around the edges so I can add some partial dots too. Dry with a heat tool.
Take a black Posca pen and add detail lines to your art piece. I am doing short, quick strokes around my polka dots, Xs, and heart. I'll take a gold Posca pen and add little swoops inside of my dots and some overlapping lines around the heart. Finally, I'll take a white Posca pen and add swoops to each polka dot again and some extra lines here and there.
Add your red glass to the heart on your canvas.
We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Mix 1 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Pour the resin onto your glass and spread it onto your canvas using your gloved fingers or brush.
Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
