Buttons Carrot 🥕

easter spring Mar 13, 2024

In this tutorial, we'll be creating a charming 4x12 spring-themed carrot art piece adorned with adorable orange buttons. I found a fantastic variety pack of buttons on Amazon, offering an array of sizes, shades, and designs, perfect for adding character to our creation. Join me as we paint our carrot canvas, embellish it with buttons and green vitrigraph, and seal it with a coat of resin. This project is beginner-friendly, making it an ideal choice for those just starting their journey into glass and resin art!

Start by painting your canvas with black acrylic paint. Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place white graphite paper underneath, and trace your carrot onto your canvas with a stylus.

Paint your carrot with Spiced Pumpkin orange paint. Dry with a heat tool and paint a second coat. I'll also use a liner brush to paint the top leafy part with Hauser Medium Green. Start at the top of your carrot and just switch up with your brush. Dry with a heat tool.

Stenciled Hydrangea Glass Art Tutorial

flower spring summer Jun 21, 2023

This 8x10 art piece is super easy to create because we are using a stencil! I this hydrangea stencil and knew it would be amazing with some rose gold reflective glass. I'm showing you how to paint and stencil this art project and add all of the glass goodies! This is a great spring or summer art piece and is perfect for beginners too.

First, I am going to paint the background with black paint. I'm going to use a sponge brush to get more coverage faster. Dry with a heat tool.

Next, I am going to add some stenciled flowers in my background. I am using a bright pink called Exotic Bloom and applying it with a stencil brush. Dip your brush in the paint, offload the paint, and then apply it in a circular motion over your stencil very lightly. Dry with a heat tool.

Now, tape your stencil down with your flower in the middle to create your main hydrangea. I am going to layer up on my colors, starting with the Exotic Bloom and concentrating it in the middle. Then, I am going to...

Field of Tulips 🌷

flower spring Apr 19, 2023

I am using a distressed piece of wood as my surface today to create a beautiful field of tulips. We'll be painting on our wood and then adding some clear glass vase pieces for our petals along with some seed beads and resin. This is the perfect spring project and would look so pretty in your home!

Start by painting your wood piece with some white paint to give it a distressed look. Then, I'm using Hauser Green Light and Avocado Green to paint my board with a chip brush. I'm mostly concentrating on the bottom of my piece. I'll take a smaller brush and some Crocus Yellow and Straw Yellow and just dab that paint into my field of green to create "flowers" in the background. Let dry or dry with a heat gun.

Grab your tracer, tape it to the canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your tulip with a stylus onto the wood.

Now, let's paint our flower! I'm painting the petals with a basecoat of Straw Yellow. Then, I'm painting the leaves and stem...

Dandelion Blowing in the Wind

flower spring May 31, 2022

My sister (and many of my members!) have been begging me to do a dandelion, so I thought, "let's just go for it!" We are going to be working on a 5x7 canvas with some acrylic paint, a graphic pen, and some bronze, green, and Starfire glass. This is a simple and easy one to do!

We are going to start by painting our background white along with some Mermaid Blue. This will give us a little bit of a sky blue color. Let dry.

Next, grab your tracer and tape it to your canvas. Place your graphite paper underneath and trace your dandelion with your stylus.

Now it's time to paint! I'm using Crocodile Green and Burnt Umber. Take some of your Umber paint and dot it onto your canvas in a circle to create your dandelion center. Add some extra green dots over top. Let dry.

Most of our detail work is going to be done with our Master's Touch graphic pen. I'm going to draw on all of the little seeds, stems, and fluff of the dandelion. Hit that with your heat gun again to make sure that your...

Cute Flower Art

flower spring Mar 27, 2022

I'm feeling spring, so today we are making some cute flower art with two 4 x 12 canvases! I'm also doing a little tutorial on how to create glass flower petals and I'm going over my favorite products to use for making those. This is so simple and so pretty.

First, I'll explain how I created my flower petals. I've had this clear iridescent plate for a long time, and I'm finally going to use it to make some flowers. I just take my glass nippers and slowly go around the plate to create my petals. Then, I use my stone to dull some of those sharp edges.

Let's paint our background. I am doing took different colors - one is going to have blue paint and the other canvas is going to have some purple. Start with a coat of fresh white and then add a tiny dot of your color to spread throughout the canvas. I'm keeping it lighter at the bottom and darker at the top. Let dry.

Now it's time to place your glass onto your canvas. I'm going to do one at a time. Take your glass...

What's the buzz? This Gnome & Honey Bee 🐝

bumblebee gnome spring Feb 28, 2022

I got these little glass bumblebees on Etsy and I knew that I had to build an art piece around them! Today, I am making a gnome with a honey bee - complete with a beehive and some swirls, and it's going to be amazing. If you don't have a glass bee to use, just feel free to simply draw one on.

First, I'm going to start by adding white paint to my 5 x 7 canvas, just to make sure we have a nice, clean, fresh background. I'm also going to add some to the sides. Let dry.

Then, we're going to take the tracer and tape it to our canvas. Place graphite paper underneath and trace your gnome, beehive, and swirl with your stylus. (For those of you that are in The Shattered Circle, you will get this tracer!)

We're only using a few colors in this entire piece! Start by painting the bottom of the gnome's hat black. Then, we will continue up the entire hat with yellow and black stripes. I'll also paint the beehive yellow too.

Next, I'm going to paint his nose. I'm filling in his nose...
