heart valentine's day Feb 19, 2025

Create a stunning 4x4 pink and gold heart shelf sitter canvas that’s perfect for gifting or adding a touch of charm to your space! This project combines textured palette knife painting, rich acrylic colors, and sparkly seed beads to bring your heart to life. With layers of pinks and metallic gold, you’ll craft a piece that’s full of dimension and personality.

Begin by applying Liquitex Basics Iridescent White to your canvas using a palette knife, adding texture and depth with each stroke. For a more dimensional look, you can extend the paint onto the edges of the canvas as well.

Next, let’s shape the heart using the same Iridescent White and a paddle palette knife, which has a wider blade and a curved top. Load your knife with paint, press down, and sweep it towards the bottom of the canvas to form the two sides of the heart. Don't worry about perfection—embrace the organic, textured feel!

Using the same palette knife, swipe Masters Touch Acrylic Pink, Masters Touch Acrylic Purple...

heart valentine's day Feb 12, 2025

Let's create a stunning heart painting that shimmers with color and texture! This project combines bold reds and pinks, soft blended backgrounds, and sparkling glass accents to bring your artwork to life. Whether you're making it for Valentine’s Day or just want to add a little extra love to your decor, this step-by-step tutorial will guide you through the process.

Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart with a stylus.

Next, we'll work on painting our heart. I'm going to start by painting one half of the heart with Cherry Red, the middle of the heart with Dragonfruit Pink, and the other half of the heart with Poodleskirt Pink and white to create a blended ombre effect on the heart. Dry with a heat tool. Add a second coat using the same technique and dry again.

Then, I’ll add some gold accents around the edges of the heart using Dazzling Metallics Splendid Gold. For the background, I’ll start with white paint and blend in L...

Valentine Art đź’›

angel heart valentine's day Feb 05, 2025

Celebrate love this Valentine’s Day with a beautiful heart and wings canvas! This project combines rich metallic gold tones with sculpted texture to create a stunning, dimensional piece. Whether you're making it for yourself or as a gift, this artwork is a perfect way to add warmth to your space.

Begin by applying a coat of Metallic White paint to your 12x12 canvas, ensuring smooth, even coverage by pulling the paint in one direction. This helps the metallic finish lay flat and reflective. Dry with a heat tool.

Next, secure your tracer to the canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and use a stylus to trace the heart and wings.

For the heart, apply a layer of Metallic Antique Gold paint. Then, for the wings, use a heavy-bodied paint like Master's Touch Antique Gold. Dip the back of a palette knife into the paint, start at the tips of the wings, and pull the paint downward to create texture and movement. Continue layering and sculpting the wings, blending some of the paint onto th...

Faith Balloon đź’•

heart valentine's day Jan 29, 2025

This heart balloon design features the word faith as its string, creating a simple yet meaningful piece of art. We originally made this for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but it’s a great project for any time of year. With soft pink tones, a touch of sparkle, and an easy process, it’s a fun and beautiful piece to create!

Use a sponge brush to paint your canvas with Metallic Pearl White, along with the edges as well. To achieve a smooth finish, pull the paint with your brush in one direction. Dry with a heat tool.

Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace the heart and word "faith" with a stylus.

Apply a base coat of Poodleskirt Pink to the heart and dry it using a heat tool.

For the second coat, apply another layer of Poodleskirt Pink, and while the paint is still wet, blend White into the left side and Dragonfruit Pink into the right. Incorporate a touch of Cinnamon Drop throughout for added depth. To enhance dimension, add a subtle ...

Heart Balloons ❤️

Transform a simple 9x12 canvas into a heartfelt masterpiece with this fun and creative art project! With minimal painting for the background, abstract brushstrokes for vibrant hearts, and a touch of sparkling red glass for texture, this tutorial is perfect for all skill levels.

Begin by applying a base coat of white acrylic paint to your canvas. While the paint is still wet, blend in a few drops of French Blue to add subtle texture and depth to your background. Use a heat tool to dry the canvas completely.

Next, lightly sketch heart shapes onto your canvas with a pencil, or use a tracer if you prefer.

With a 1/2-inch brush, loosely apply red acrylic paint where the sketched heart shapes are on your canvas. Keep the strokes imperfect to achieve an abstract, artistic effect for your hearts.

Using a palette knife, apply a darker red shade, such as Napa Red, to your hearts to add dimension. Keep your strokes loose and abstract for an imperfect look. Layer more of the original red o...

XOX ❤️

heart valentine's day Feb 14, 2024

We are making a cute Valentine's Day project using an 8x16 canvas! I have been testing some tinted red glass in the warehouse and will be using that today to create this love-themed art piece. My goal is to tint and provide colored glass so you don't have to do it yourself! This red glass worked perfectly and I'm excited to use it for more projects.

I'm going to start by painting my background with white paint and then adding Poodleskirt Pink on top, blending it into the wet white. Dry with a heat tool.

Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart and Xs onto your canvas with a stylus.

I'm going to paint the hearts and Xs with Primary Red paint. Add a second coat as well. Dry with a heat tool.

I'm going to use a dotter sponge brush and add polka dots to my Xs with Dragonfruit pink paint. I'm going to use a piece of paper around the edges so I can add some partial dots too. Dry with a heat tool.

Take a black Posca pen and ad...

Love Sign đź’•

valentine's day Feb 07, 2024

We will be creating a rustic LOVE sign with a piece of wood, some bottle rings, and sheet glass strips for the letters. This one is so easy to make - all you need are your surface, glass pieces, and resin. This has no tracer and no painting, and is a great art project for beginners!

I have a piece of rustic wood that I will use as the surface for this art project. I also have some glass strips and bottle rings that I have precut to form my letters. Use tacky glue to secure your pieces to your wood. I am attaching the glass strips on their edge - not flat.

If you're looking for bottle rings, search for them on Etsy or eBay.

We're going to elevate our wood using blocks. Mix 1/2 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Pour the resin onto your glass and spread it onto your entire piece using your gloved fingers or brush.

Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!

At this point, you could drill a couple of holes and add some twine to hang it i...

Red Heart ❤️

heart valentine's day Jan 31, 2024

We are using a 10x10 canvas to create a red Valentine's Day heart! I found red and pearl glass filler at Michael's that I will add to my heart along with some gold accents. This is very simple - you only need to be able to paint a heart and then add your glass goodies and resin! This is perfect for Valentine's Day decor or gifting to someone you love.

I'm going to start by painting the background with pearl metallic paint. I'm going to get the paint on my canvas and then pull the paint all in one direction so that my metallic lays nicely. Dry with a heat tool.

Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart onto your canvas with a stylus.

I'm going to use Primary Red and Dragon Fruit along with a little bit of white paint right along my tracer line to outline my heart. Dry with a heat tool.

Take a Gold Posca or DecoColor gold metallic marker and scribble around your heart with short strokes. I'm also going to write the word "love...

Valentine Hearts đź’•

hearts valentine's day Jan 24, 2024

We are creating some pretty Valentine's Day art with two hearts and some love quotes! I will show you how I painted these hearts and added the glass and resin. This is a great one for beginners and would make a great gift for Valentine's Day or just some DIY Valentine's Day home decor.

I am going to start by sketching two hearts onto my canvas with a pink watercolor pencil. Then, I'm going to add some Royal Fuschia, Pink Melon, and white paint to my bottom heart. I'm going to be adding glass on top of this heart, so it doesn't need to be perfect.

Then, I'm going to paint the top heart with Aquamarine, Metallic Teal, and white paint. I'll also add Pure Gold around the edges of each heart.

I'm going to take a bigger brush and add white paint to my background while blending in some purple. and pink. Dry with a heat tool.

Take a graphic marker and write some cute quotes if you would like! I am going to write "Love never fails" and "Love is patient...love is kind". This is option...

You and Me Heart ❤️

heart valentine's day Jan 17, 2024

I am using a small 6x6 canvas to create a heart art piece. We'll be painting the background and adding glass pieces that I have cut from a glass globe. We'll form the glass into a heart and paint the words "you & me" for a cute little Valentine's Day art project. I'll explain how I make this from start to finish!

Start by painting your canvas with one coat of Metallic White paint. Then, we will create our heart!

I had a glass globe that I literally whacked with a hammer because it's pretty thick. Then, I cut off some smaller pieces to create my heart halves. When you're cutting something round, you want to cut from the inside, not the outside, so you can follow that curve.

I used a scoring tool to cut a line and then used my breaking pliers to break that piece off. Then, I grabbed my wheeled nippers and nipped off any glass to create the two ovals for my heart. Use a honing stone to dull the sharp edges of your glass.

Before we add our glass and resin, we are going to transfe...
