We are making a cute Valentine's Day project using an 8x16 canvas! I have been testing some tinted red glass in the warehouse and will be using that today to create this love-themed art piece. My goal is to tint and provide colored glass so you don't have to do it yourself! This red glass worked perfectly and I'm excited to use it for more projects.
I'm going to start by painting my background with white paint and then adding Poodleskirt Pink on top, blending it into the wet white. Dry with a heat tool.
Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart and Xs onto your canvas with a stylus.
I'm going to paint the hearts and Xs with Primary Red paint. Add a second coat as well. Dry with a heat tool.
I'm going to use a dotter sponge brush and add polka dots to my Xs with Dragonfruit pink paint. I'm going to use a piece of paper around the edges so I can add some partial dots too. Dry with a heat tool.
Take a black...
We will be creating a rustic LOVE sign with a piece of wood, some bottle rings, and sheet glass strips for the letters. This one is so easy to make - all you need are your surface, glass pieces, and resin. This has no tracer and no painting, and is a great art project for beginners!
I have a piece of rustic wood that I will use as the surface for this art project. I also have some glass strips and bottle rings that I have precut to form my letters. Use tacky glue to secure your pieces to your wood. I am attaching the glass strips on their edge - not flat.
If you're looking for bottle rings, search for them on Etsy or eBay.
We're going to elevate our wood using blocks. Mix 1/2 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Pour the resin onto your glass and spread it onto your entire piece using your gloved fingers or brush.
Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times!
At this point, you could drill a couple of holes and...
We are using a 10x10 canvas to create a red Valentine's Day heart! I found red and pearl glass filler at Michael's that I will add to my heart along with some gold accents. This is very simple - you only need to be able to paint a heart and then add your glass goodies and resin! This is perfect for Valentine's Day decor or gifting to someone you love.
I'm going to start by painting the background with pearl metallic paint. I'm going to get the paint on my canvas and then pull the paint all in one direction so that my metallic lays nicely. Dry with a heat tool.
Grab your tracer, tape it to your canvas, place graphite paper underneath, and trace your heart onto your canvas with a stylus.
I'm going to use Primary Red and Dragon Fruit along with a little bit of white paint right along my tracer line to outline my heart. Dry with a heat tool.
Take a Gold Posca or DecoColor gold metallic marker and scribble around your heart with short strokes. I'm...
We are creating some pretty Valentine's Day art with two hearts and some love quotes! I will show you how I painted these hearts and added the glass and resin. This is a great one for beginners and would make a great gift for Valentine's Day or just some DIY Valentine's Day home decor.
I am going to start by sketching two hearts onto my canvas with a pink watercolor pencil. Then, I'm going to add some Royal Fuschia, Pink Melon, and white paint to my bottom heart. I'm going to be adding glass on top of this heart, so it doesn't need to be perfect.
Then, I'm going to paint the top heart with Aquamarine, Metallic Teal, and white paint. I'll also add Pure Gold around the edges of each heart.
I'm going to take a bigger brush and add white paint to my background while blending in some purple. and pink. Dry with a heat tool.
Take a graphic marker and write some cute quotes if you would like! I am going to write "Love never fails" and "Love is patient...love is kind". This is...
I am using a small 6x6 canvas to create a heart art piece. We'll be painting the background and adding glass pieces that I have cut from a glass globe. We'll form the glass into a heart and paint the words "you & me" for a cute little Valentine's Day art project. I'll explain how I make this from start to finish!
Start by painting your canvas with one coat of Metallic White paint. Then, we will create our heart!
I had a glass globe that I literally whacked with a hammer because it's pretty thick. Then, I cut off some smaller pieces to create my heart halves. When you're cutting something round, you want to cut from the inside, not the outside, so you can follow that curve.
I used a scoring tool to cut a line and then used my breaking pliers to break that piece off. Then, I grabbed my wheeled nippers and nipped off any glass to create the two ovals for my heart. Use a honing stone to dull the sharp edges of your glass.
Before we add our glass and resin, we are...
We are working on a 5x7 canvas to create a fun, beachy-themed Mardi Gras art piece! We will paint a simple background and add some Mardi Gras beads and shells. This one is great for beginners because it has minimal painting, no tracer, and we are adding glass, goodies, and resin!
Start by painting the front and sides of your canvas with black paint. Dry with a heat gun. I'm starting with black because I am going to be using Metallic Gold on top, and black is a great base for that.
I am going to use a sponge brush to apply a coat of Metallic Gold. Pull your paint in one direction to make sure your metallic is nice and smooth. Dry with a heat tool and then add a second coat. On the sides of my canvas, I am going to alternate with purple and green stripes. Dry with a heat tool.
I have already spray-painted the back of an oyster shell gold. I'm also going to take an iridescent gold paint to add to the front, and I'll use Rub n Buff - Gold Leaf to add some gold to...
I found a beautiful dusty rose starfish ornament at Hobby Lobby and I'm creating a beach art piece with lots of shells, driftwood, glass, and seed beads. This one has no tracer and minimal painting (just the background!), so you can easily recreate this and use whatever you have in your stash!
We are working with an 8x16 canvas. Start by painting your background with white paint. Next, I am going to blend in some Cactus Flower pink paint. Use your brush flat and apply the color from side to side. Dry with a heat tool.
I will use the flat side of my paintbrush and apply more white paint on top, just lightly swiping the brush from side to side to create more dimension. Dry again.
Now, let's add all of our glass and goodies! I am going to add about half of a bag of Rose Gold glass. I'll situate my starfish towards the right side of my canvas in the glass. I'll fill in any spots with Starfire glass. Then, I'll arrange my shells, piece of driftwood, and a few pearl beads...
I grabbed some wood ornament blanks from Hobby Lobby and knew that I wanted to create some kind of glass and resin Christmas ornaments. While looking through my stash, I found a bin of chandelier glass that had tons of pieces to make pretty little angels. These were gifted to me, but I'm sure you could find similar stuff at any craft store, Etsy, or Ebay. I'm going to show you how to create these angel ornaments from chandelier glass!
I'm going to spray-paint my chandelier pieces so that they show up better against my wooden ornament. I am using Krylon Gold Leaf and Krylon Looking Glass Silver, but you can use whatever you have. Spray both the front and the back - no need to seal them! Let them dry for an hour or two.
Next, I'm going to take a metallic silver pen and a metallic gold pen to add a halo and accentuate the ornament topper.
Take your glass off of your ornament so that you can get resin underneath those pieces.
Mix 1/4 ounce of resin and stir...
This is such an easy holiday art project where we are literally going to scribble a tree onto our canvas! There is no tracer and very minimal painting. We are simply scribbling and adding glass, beads, and resin. This is absolutely perfect for beginners if you are just getting started with glass art and resin!
Let's start by painting our background! Add a coat of Metallic White and then pull it all in one direction so you have a nice, non-splotchy color. Then, mix some Metallic White with Metallic Festive Green and add some color in a diagonal direction. Dry with a heat tool.
Next, we need to figure out the shape and placement of our tree. I have a clear glass star that I will be using for my topper, so I'll place that on my canvas and add a little dot where that is going to be. The, I'll take painter's tape and form a triangle so that I know where to add my tree scribble.
I'll take a black Posca Pen and literally scribble my Christmas tree - starting at the top with a little...
We are using a 6x6 canvas to create a gorgeous dusty rose poinsettia flower, which would look amazing in your home during the holiday or winter season! This one requires very minimal painting (just the background!) and has tons of glass goodies. I'll be showing you how to create a flower out of pieces of a candle votive and we'll also add lots of beads and resin.
Use glass nippers or wheeled nippers to cut your flower petals from a candle votive. Take your nippers and cut horizontally around the edge with your votive, going around the entire votive until you get to the bottom. Your petals will not be perfect and that is okay! Once you have your petals, use a honing stone to sand down those sharp edges and points.
Paint your background with a coat of Metallic White. Then, I'll add some dots of Metallic Stone paint and pounce my paintbrush to give the background texture. I'll also use the plastic wrap that was on my canvas and just dab that on it too. Dry with a heat...
